Crawfish Stuffed Mushrooms Louisiana foodie style

This is classic Louisiana food at Parrain's Restaurant,  3225 Perkins Road in Baton Rouge, done well.   If you are driving  east through Baton Rouge on the way to New Orleans (or passing back through on the way to Lafayette), and want to grab some seafood in a classic cajun atmosphere, take the Acadian Thruway exit right around Dalrymple.  Go south on Acadian Thruway, take the first right, then an almost immediate right into the Parrain's Restaurant happy hour from 4-7 every day.

Every appetizer on the Parrain's menu was under $10.00. We bellied up to the bar for crawfish stuffed mushrooms (pictured), boudin balls, and fried alligator and catfish strips.   The bar also serves Bienville oysters on the half-shell and
hush puppies.  If you like boiled shrimp, you can grab 3/4 of a pound of so to share.

If you want to make this at home, here is a crawfish stuffed mushroom recipe from a Baton Rouge native and it looks great.  Try it and let me know how it tastes!
